You probably know Techland from their work regarding Dead Island and Dead Island: Riptide (read Spiderduck's review of Riptide here). Techland has been working on a mysterious hack and slash title and today, we learn a little about it. While it was once titled "Project Hell", the official name is Hellraid.

This... does not look friendly

Hellraid is to be a co-op first-person hack and slash adventure through what looks to be a place closely resembling hell. The environments look creepy enough and the enemies are certainly ones I wouldn't want to meet in a dimly lit room.

"The armies of Hell brought pain and destruction to the realm of man, and only a select few have the fighting skills necessary to confront the devilish monstrosities," a brief description of the new game explains. Hellraid will offer a story-driven single-player campaign alogn with a unique, co-op multiplayer that pits four players against the denizens of hell -- and each other -- in "a battle for points, rewards, and fame."

Oh look at the books!

Hellraid is due sometime this year for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
