Minecraft has been around since 2011 and is still going strong to this day. Multiple platforms now have the wildly entertaining building/exploration game but that doesn't stop Minecraft from advancing further. The Xbox 360 already has Minecraft available for download and yet, a retail boxed copy is on the way.

Arriving June 4th for NA, gamers that can't play Minecraft online for whatever reason, now have the option presented to them. Initially, the retail version was supposed to be released April 30th but got delayed because the very latest details needed to be added. UK gamers will also get the game in June but must wait until the 28th to start building.

All copies of Minecraft come with a 48-hour Xbox Live Gold subscription; allowing gamers to sample the online portion and to download recent content. With Minecraft being re-sold for the Xbox 360, one would expect to see another spike in sales.

Minecraft doesn't do it for me. I get why the game became so popular in such a short amount of time but this isn't for me. With that being said however, I do expect to see the retail copy sell quite nicely. It also makes me wonder... if this version does well, will we see Minecraft on even more platforms?
