Halo: Spartan Assault coming to PC, Windows Phone 8, Surface Tablets

Major Nelson announced this morning that Halo: Spartan Assault is indeed a game and the biggest surprise is that it will be coming out for the PC, Windows Phone 8, and Surface tablets. A lot of people were speculating that the game would be coming out for the Xbox One, however, it appears to be a twin stick shooter that will be releasing for $6.99 this July. The game is being developed by 343 Industries in conjunction with Vanguard Games and will take place between Halo 3 and Halo 4. It will also have some integration with Halo 4  as you can earn XP, get more achievements, and more emblems for your Spartan career. It will have an expansive single-player campaign spanning 25 missions and let you compete with friends via leaderboards. Halo: Spartan Assault looks like an interesting take on the Halo universe and you can check out the trailer and some screenshots below.
