Atari Files For Bankruptcy
Video game company Atari has filed for bankruptcy in an attempt to “to break free from their debt-laden French parent,” according to the L.A. Times.
The company’s revenue hasn’t been doing so well for years now. Ever since the early 2000s, Atari has been ruled over by parent company Atari S.A. Most recently, the US side of the company has been focusing on media avenues like mobile and digital platforms.
Atari is most famous for creating both Pong and Asteroids and is currently working on a new form of Pong with Zynga. A “greatest hits” collection is also in the works.
