Batman: Arkham Origins Coming Out Later This Year

Batman: Arkham Origins is the prequel to both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Arkham Origins will arrive on October 25th for the Xbox 360, PS3, PC and the Wii U.

In what could potentially be a bad move or good move for Batman, Warner Bros. Montreal Games is the studio behind the development. Yes, the studio does have the custom modified Unreal engine that is crucial for making the Arkham world look the way it does. Leading the charge is creative director Eric Holmes; known for his work on titles such as The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and Prototype.

This time around, players get to control a younger Batman who hasn’t really developed all of his skills yet. The premise for Arkham Origins deals with eight of the most deadly assassins all gunning after (yup you guessed it) Batman. As you can even see on the May cover of Gameinformer, Deathstroke finally gets added to the Arkham supervillain roster. Wonder who the other seven assassins are?

BUT WAIT…there’s more! As a separate experience away from Arkham Origins is Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, which will arrive for the 3DS and Vita on the same day as Arkham Origins. Blackgate plays out like a 2.5D Metroid styled game. The events in Blackgate tell what happens after the ending in Arkham Origins. Behind the development of the handheld game is Armature Studio, which has several of the leads that worked on the Metroid Prime titles.

We’ll make sure to update you with more details when they arrive.
