Cliffy B is offering to help "fix" Resident Evil
-Jovan St. Lawrence
Former Design Director at Epic Games, Cliff Bleszinski has recently expressed interest in aiding Capcom with the Resident Evil Franchise. Now you might be saying to yourself with three RE titles released this year alone (Revelations, Operation Raccoon City, & Resident Evil 6) and two Resident Evil films also this year (Retribution, Damnation) why would a cash cow franchise with such brand recognition as Resident Evil need the man behind Unreal Tournament & Gears of War? Well two of the three RE games being ORC & RE6 have received mixed to poor reactions and the two films haven’t been received any better. No doubt a step back to the drawing board for this franchise is necessary at this point.
His tweet stated: “Hey, Capcom. Call me. We can fix Resident Evil. Together. :-)”
Bleszinski didn’t go any further into details which leads to believe that he has not met with Capcom on the matter, however, the idea of him with Capcom is very interesting to say the least. Just less than a month ago, Bleszinski announced his departure from Epic Games, stating “it was time for a much needed break” before moving on to the next stage of his career. It is not clear where he will be headed or if he will be going anywhere, anytime soon but his Twitter feed gives us some evidence of this. Since leaving Epic Games, Bleszinski has visited the offices of Zynga, Activision, Electronic Arts, Double Fine and has even met with God of War & Twisted Metal designer David Jaffe.
