Details revealed for Dust 514 Vita App
Today on the PlayStation blog, Sony released the first details surrounding Dust 514’s Vita app called Neocom. According to the source, Neocom allows players to access Dust 514 on the fly, which includes buying new items, customizing characters and much more.
When we look deeper at the details surrounding Neocom, we get a better understanding of its functions. Players will be able to use Dust’s fitting system, modify weapon load-outs and even customize armor and vehicles. The in-store section will even be available on Neocom; giving access to daily special offers, social features and the in-game mall. Then for those that like to look at maps, even the massive galaxy map can be viewed on Neocom. With all these functions that will be presented to the players, Neocom is looking like it will be a great addition to Dust 514.
“There’s the galaxy of Eve in real time on your Vita,” said CCP creative director Atli Mars Sveinsson. “700 solar systems and you can drill down and look at the individual planets. Over time we’d like you to be able to tinker with those planets and manage their surface infrastructure. There are so many parts of Dust 514 that you can take with you and don’t need a PS3 to enjoy, and this was the perfect way to exploit those features. The whole PlayStation ecosystem works really well, allowing these systems to connect and be a nice cohesive experience. It’s MMO on the go.”
Dust 514 is set to hit open beta sometime later this year. For those people that have PlayStation Plus, a closed beta will be available to you later this month.
