EA Cancels NBA Live 13
-Jovan St. Lawrence
EA Sports executive Vice President, Andrew Wilson has announced that the studio is pulling the plug on NBA Live 13. After a lukewarm reception to their “behind the scenes” demo at E3, news on the game went quiet.
After the franchise was renamed to NBA Elite 11, it was indefinitely delayed and eventually canceled on the day of the game’s release no less. EA now has attempted to resuscitate the basketball franchise this year. Unfortunately, even with a new graphics engine and signature styles for each player, the development progress has halted from that point.
It has been mentioned that delaying the game and launching it midway through the NBA season was not an option so EA Tiburon will sit out the year and launch a new game for next year. Wilson has made it clear that they are not abandoning the basketball sim.
