So after a E3 2011 teaser, a year of no announcements related to said teaser, a new overhaul of the game teased at PAX Prime, an unnecessary countdown leading to no new trailer because of legal issues, Insomniac’s newest IP, Fuse is finally here. This game, formerly known as Overstrike, is Insomniac’s first multi platform game, to be published by EA. Since 1996 with their first game, Disruptor, all of Insomniac’s titles have been PlayStation exclusives. That is changing with Fuse. It will be available on Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3 March 2013.
This 4 player co-op adventure will be right in the middle of two other EA co-op shooters in the first quarter. Dead Space 3 in mid February & Army of Two: The Cartel also in March of next year along with Fuse. I’m a huge Ratchet fan and I know for a fact that out-of-this-world weapons are gonna be a focal point in Fuse just like in most other Insomniac’s titles.
That being said, is this the best kind of release window strategy for EA? Will the two other established franchises greatly damage the sales for the new IP in Fuse? Clearly, we should all be happy that Insomniac after over 15 years of game development is going multiplatform and reaching out to other audiences on the 360.
Fuse will release on Xbox 360 & PlayStation 3 in March 2013.
