MS Points no more?

Microsoft Points may be a thing of the past soon according to The Verge. The news report states that when you buy items from the Xbox video store using the MS points, it automatically defaults to a credit card transaction. This means that people won’t be doing conversions to figure out the real cost of anything they buy, or having to buy more points than what is needed anymore.

The Verge also points out that the change will mostly likely come to the Xbox 360 when the dashboard is upgraded late October. The next update to the Xbox 360 is slated to have a number of Windows 8 mechanics, so it would make a lot of sense if the Microsoft Points system gets removed.

Windows 8 OS launches on October 26th.
