Wii U To Rise Like A Phoenix This October Due To 3D Mario?

It appears that Nintendo may be down, but not out of the fight completely. According to CVG and Nintendo's retail partners, Nintendo is planning to launch some high profile releases towards the end of the year such as the new 3D Mario game for the Wii U that was announced this past January during a Nintendo Direct video. The sources also say that Nintendo will bolster this with a new marketing campaign that is due out either soon before or during E3 this year as the game will be playable on the show floor.

Wii U Miss Target Shipments, Projected At 9M For Next Fiscal Year

Nintendo has released their financials for the fiscal year today, and one of the biggest things to come out of that is the Wii U missing its target of shipping out Wii U hardware. Nintendo only shipped 3.45 million units, which is down from the projected 4 million which was also down from an early projection of 5 million units. Nintendo admitted the Wii U failed to "maintain initial sales momentum" due to game delays, but feel confident that they will ship 9 million by year's end once they release some "key Nintendo titles."​

Mario and Donkey Kong Minis On The Move Exclusive To 3DS eShop May 9th

​Revealed during their Nintendo Direct today, Mario and Donkey Kong Minis On The Move is a new puzzle action game as part of the Mario Vs. Donkey Kong series. ​It differs from previous games as you have to place a limited number of tiles down for you to navigate the minis through large areas while collecting coins and other items. There are 180 stages to play through, and you can also create custom stages and upload them as well as download some from other players.

New Super Luigi U Is A Massive DLC Expansion

New Super Luigi U is new DLC content for New Super Mario Bros. U for the Wii U. They have completely changed all 87 levels to make them unique to playing as Luigi. Luigi has the ability to jump higher than Mario. It's also harder for him to stop after dashing. The courses start with only 100 seconds, which would be less time than normal to make them harder and full of hidden items. They have designed the courses for replayability.

New Mario Party Game Announced For 3DS

Nintendo Announced that Mario Party will be making its return to handhelds this winter with a new version for the 3DS. ​For the first time, there are 7 game boards each with their unique set of rules. There will be a variety of new items to hinder the progress of your opponents or to help you come back. The one they showed was something that let you double the dice roll to give you an advantage if you time the button press correctly. There are varying mini-games that test your speed, concentration, luck, and use the unique features of the 3DS.
