Ubisoft E3 Press Conference
Ubisoft’s Press Conference was exciting to say the least. Just Dance 4 kicked off the show with a performance from Flo-Rida as well. A gameplay demo was shown for Far Cry 3. It shows off open world exploration, satisfying gunplay, and great looking visuals. Splinter Call: Blacklist showed a new trailer following the gameplay demo shown earlier today at Microsoft’s Press Conference.
Next, The Avengers: Battle for Earth premiered with a teaser trailer showing off familiar Marvel heroes other than the Avengers members themselves. Avengers: Battle for Earth will be for Kinect on Xbox 360 and Wii U. Rayman Legends gameplay was premiered and it was shown on the Wii U. It has 5 player co-op and additional features on the Wii U GamePad controller with a new character, Murphy. New levels and interaction with the touchscreen capabilities make a new experience for Rayman Legends.
Ubisoft continued to show their commitment for the Wii U with a zombie shooter name ZombiU. The teaser trailer shows the game will take place in England and resembles Dead Island a little bit, only much better. Other upcoming Wii U titles were shown such as Rabbids Land, Your Shape Fitness Evolved 2013, & Sports Connection.
Assassin’s Creed III gameplay was premiered next and it was not disappointing at all. Set in the American Revolution, new areas, controls, diverse environments, multiple season changes were all shown in the trailer and new gameplay demo. Ubisoft’s Free 2 Play and downloadable games stats were shown as well. Trials Evolution and Ghost Recon Online have impressive numbers.
Shootmania was brought to light and Ubisoft’s interest in eSports was expressed with some 3 vs 3 gameplay in Shootmania. And finally Watch_Dogs. A game that I can’t stress enough how incredibly dynamic and original and immersive and beautiful this game is. What looks like was played on the Wii U, Watch_Dogs is an open world adventure where computers have invaded every aspect of life. Hacking systems like cell phones, traffic lights and other systems looks to be a main facet of how the game is played. Gun and melee combat look very smooth and visceral as well. Watch_Dogs got the crowd of their seats with thunderous applause.
Ubisoft pleased the crowd immensely and surely brought us incredible games along with much enthusiasm to Nintendo’s new console.
